Mousie Goes for Water — Lithuanian Rhymes (My Children’s Book)

I shall continue telling you about and showing some of the gems of my home library. A large part of it consists of my childhood books, including those in English. I have already shared an old book, In the Van, a translated poem by Samuil Marshak. Now is the time to show you one of the «Baltic» books I used to read as a child. Mousie Goes for Water is a collection of short Lithuanian poems. As I was born in the USSR, fairy tales, poetry and «serious» literature by authors from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia were on my reading list. A few tales have long been the favourite, and there’ll be the time to show those, too. But for now enjoy the nursery rhymes.
